Meet Nicole Schmenk, our new Administrative Assistant. She and her husband, Joe, were high school sweethearts and have lived in Fort Wayne their entire lives. They have a son, Joey, and a daughter, Kaley. Nicole loves animals and has three dogs. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Why I feel called to this ministry:
God gave me a deep desire to see women live out their full identity in Christ, especially after experiencing my own brokenness and seeing its effects on my family. I began to feel His broken heart for women who have nowhere else to turn.
When I closed my daycare five years ago to begin a career in women’s ministry, I asked God, “How does a woman help another woman find her identity in Christ?” He responded, “She simply loves them.”
My favorite part about this ministry:
My favorite part of this ministry is that we truly get to love these women with the active love of Christ. Christlike love is not just a feeling; it’s a way of life that I choose to live. This ministry embodies that by coming alongside these women through both the good and the bad. Four:10 Ministries represents the hands and feet of Jesus to them, and that is something I want to be a part of.
Interesting facts and favorite things:
I love gardening—it has given me a new perspective on God and the work He does in our hearts. If I’m not at work or spending time with friends and family, you’ll find me in the garden. I plan to grow hundreds of different flowers this season.
I also have a twin sister who is my best friend. We live just two blocks apart. This close relationship has fueled my strong desire to see women supporting one another. It’s such a unique and powerful way to nurture our lives and relationships.
I love event planning and building relationships, and I’m excited to see how God will use that in Four:10 Ministries. From creating social media posts to planning full-scale retreats, I love partnering with God through creativity.
I am also the Assistant State Coordinator for She Leads Indiana, a chapter of She Leads America. She Leads America is a dynamic and diverse organization of Christian women leaders across the nation and globe. Additionally, I work as the event manager at Project 216, a humanitarian food aid nonprofit organization.
