Residential Support Staff Position
Role:
The residential support staff will be responsible for assisting the Director of Programs with the residents of Living Water Residence. One of their primary responsibilities will be to provide peer support to residents with substance use disorder. Other duties will involve helping with transportation, case management and oversight fo the house.
Qualifications
- Education: a high school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate: Peer Support Specialist
- Sobriety: 3 years + clean and sober
- Character: compassionate, kind, loving, humble, persistent, and wise
- Computer skills: Microsoft word, excel, google docs
- Work skills: efficient, organized, friendly, good listener, stays on task, good at relationship building
Job Responsibilities
- Attend with and transport residents to recovery meetings in the evenings.
- Assist the Director of Programs with Medicaid and Food Stamps related issues.
- Assist the Director of Programs with other tasks as needed.
- Use personal recovery stories to build trust, model resilience, and inspire hope.
- Help clients map out personal wellness recovery plans, everyday routines, and coping mechanisms.
- Perform random drug screens for residents and track the results.
- Monitor resident’s behavior and attitudes, and report any concerns to the Director of Programs.
Hours: 1 pm to 9 pm Monday through Friday
Pay Scale: $19/hour initially
Mileage Reimbursement for transportation: $0.50/mile
