Loved, Seen, and Valued: A Christmas Invitation

Every Christmas season, many of us return to the books of Matthew and Luke to read the story of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Matthew begins his Gospel with the genealogy of Jesus—a long list of names we are often tempted to skim. Yet this list is extraordinary. Unlike most biblical genealogies, Matthew includes several women, and two of them—Rahab and Tamar—were known for their sexual brokenness. Rahab was a prostitute, and Tamar, out of desperation, disguised herself as one.

What a remarkable picture of God’s heart: He chose to weave these women into the lineage of Christ. He saw them, loved them, and valued them. And by inspiring Matthew to include their names, God ensured that all generations would know their worth in His eyes.

Jesus showed this same compassion when He went out of His way to speak with the Samaritan woman at the well—the encounter that inspired the name Four:10 Ministries. Scripture makes it clear: God deeply loves and values women who have been marginalized, dismissed, or wounded by the world. At Christmas, we are reminded again of His tender care for women like Rahab, Tamar, and the woman at the well—women others overlooked, but whom God cherished.

One of our greatest hopes in serving survivors is that they come to understand their true worth. Many of the women we walk alongside carry deep guilt, shame, and feelings of unworthiness. Through relationship, trauma therapy, practical resources, and the faithful sharing of truth, we pray they will learn to see themselves as God sees them. When that happens, everything changes.

This year, we have had the privilege of being the hands and feet of Jesus in countless ways. Through outreach, case management, trauma therapy, and even simple acts like offering free laundry, we have communicated God’s love and the undeniable value He places on each woman we serve. You have made this possible through your prayers, your volunteering, and your giving. Survivors hear God’s message of love because you have chosen to partner with us. Thank you for loving them—and us—so well. May God richly bless you for all you have done.

As we close out the year, we invite you to ask the Lord how He would have you continue partnering with us. We are praying in faith that He will provide us with $20,000 to finish the year strong. We also ask you to prayerfully consider increasing your giving in 2026, as our operating budget will double with the launch of our new residential program. Please join us in praying for His provision and for our continued trust in His faithfulness.

We wish you a wonderful, blessed Christmas and a joyful New Year.
